Nutrition Coaching

A completely personalized experience that delivers practical, real world nutrition solutions.

My coaching sessions are individualized and goal oriented, yet relaxed and fun.  I treat every one of my patients as individuals with unique backgrounds, lifestyles, and eating preferences; I will meet you where you are right now, and we will focus on attainable steps that will be built upon with each subsequent visit - so that the knowledge and skillsets you are learning will last for the long term.

Who Will Benefit From Nutrition Coaching?

I help individuals struggling with weight, digestive disorders (IBS, Celiac, etc.), and chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.  Many of my patients have tried countless diets with little success and are looking for a way out of that cycle. I also see athletes wanting to improve their sports nutrition, as well as those who are just beginning a healthy eating journey.

FAQ's

Please feel free to reach out to me directly if there is something that you would like to discuss with me that is not listed.  I'm always happy to chat. :)

What's the Difference Between a Dietitian and a Health/Wellness Coach?

In the United States, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist. Registered Dietitians (RD's) hold a bachelors degree from an accredited university, have completed a 1,200-hour internship, a certification exam, and must adhere to a strict code of ethics.  We must also complete regular continuing education.  Many RD's (including myself) also hold Master's Degrees.

Are Your Services Covered by Insurance?

I am currently in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield.  Depending on your specific plan, my services may or may not be covered.  It's important to call to verify benefits prior to our appointment.  For self pay rates, please scroll down.

How long will my session last?

The majority of my initial sessions are 60 minutes.  Follow up sessions for established clients typically last 30-60 minutes.

Do I have to track calories, carbs, fat, or macros?

I typically recommend tracking in some form (an app or picture journal), and many of my clients find it helpful when they are first getting started.  It helps them to better understand their bodies and which foods make them feel their best.  Tracking is not for everyone; this is something we will discuss when we meet.

Do I have to know how to cook?

Basic cooking skills are helpful, but not required.  I will teach and guide you along the way.

Do you offer meal plans?

Yes!  Together we will create a customized meal plan according to your specific needs.

Do I have to buy certain foods, shakes, or supplements?

Absolutely not!  I will work with your food preferences and budget.

Do you offer couples or family counseling?

Yes!  Please contact me to discuss your needs.

What if I am vegan or vegetarian?

I offer counseling for vegans and vegetarians looking to optimize their diet, and also for people looking to transition into more of a plant based way of eating.

What if I have tried every diet there is and failed?

Please do not lose hope; many of my clients are in this situation when they first ask for help.  They are frustrated, discouraged, and tired.   I meet them where they are - and we begin from there.  Everyone's situation will look different, but ultimately the key is to trust the process of combining nutrition education and behavior change and not give up.  I offer as much support as possible in between appointments.
