One on one nutrition counseling with Jamie is relaxed and encouraging.  She  focuses on small, attainable steps that can be built upon with each subsequent visit.

At the initial 50-minute session, she will perform a comprehensive health and lifestyle review, which includes discussion of medical and weight history, past history of dieting, labs and medications, a food recall, and activity levels.   The client’s health and nutrition goals will be discussed.

A customizable plan will be generated together, based around the client’s nutrition requirements, food preferences, and current lifestyle.  Visual aids and handouts are provided.  Throughout the process, Jamie offers her client’s continuous online support via the online portal, Healthie.  Updates and progress notes are available for referring physicians per request.

Each follow up session will build upon the education, skills, and plan previously provided.  The meal plan and food journal will be reviewed, discussed, and modified if needed.  Progress and any setbacks that may have occurred are also discussed.  Education will be provided on pertinent topics, and new goals will be established for the next session.

Don't live in the Northwest Arkansas area?  No problem.  Jamie offers virtual counseling sessions via Healthie, a HIPAA compliant, secure/encrypted portal.  Phone appointments are also available.

Jamie sees private nutrition clients at TruHeatlh Family Care in Fayetteville.  Most major insurance plans are accepted, however it is highly recommended that you call your insurance company to ask about nutrition counseling benefits provided by a registered dietitian.  If your insurance plan does not cover nutrition services, cash payment options are available.  Please call (479) 527-9966 if you are interested in setting up an appointment.

It is very helpful to begin keeping a food journal the week prior to your appointment.  You may use an online app/site such as MyFitnessPal, or keep it hand written.  Please include the time of day, the type of food eaten, the amount consumed, and any other pertinent information.

Please also bring any recent labs or medical documents you would like to be reviewed.

Most major insurance plans are accepted. Please be aware that this does not guarantee coverage.  Each plan differs; please call your insurance prior to your appointment to ask about services covered by a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist.  Jamie is also able to provide you with a superbill containing detailed information about the appointment that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  This does not guarantee coverage, however many clients have had good luck with this method.
