Jamie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Bates College and her Master of Science degree in foods and nutrition from Marywood University. She is certified as a personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise, and is also a board certified specialist in sports dietetics.
From 2004-2008, Jamie served as the consultant dietitian for ESPN Headquarters in Bristol, CT. Through individual counseling, lectures, and group round table discussions, she was responsible for creating positive nutrition messages amongst staff and employees alike.
In addition to her private practice, Jamie also works as a dietitian at Solace Clinic, where she works with individuals seeking recovery from eating disorders and emotional eating. She also teaches in the Health and Human Performance Department at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
She is actively pursued as a speaker at local conferences and business events. She was flattered to be a guest speaker at the recent SHE Expo in Chattanooga along with Jillian Michaels. In October 2010, she will be discussing positive eating swaps to encourage weight management at Unum as part of the American Heart Association's "START!" program. Her real-world nutrition expertise is frequently sought after by the Times Free Press and local nutrition and exercise journals.
Jamie's takes pride and joy in her loving husband, Brendon and son, Aidan. When together, they love to run, hike, cook, and relax with friends. In her free time, Jamie loves to walk, weight train, read, and try new and exciting recipes (fortunately her family is open-minded!). A serving of ice cream is her favorite way to close each busy day.
